Grundy County officials told the board that five firms submitted proposals for the county's comprehensive plan and that four firms have been shortlisted for interviews this month, with a firm expected to be selected in May to begin the study.
Matt (Finance Director) told the board the firms are Illinois-based; one has an office in Plainfield and the others represent firms from across the state. He said interviews with shortlisted firms are scheduled and that three board members will participate in the interview process to avoid quorum issues for committees.
Matt said the selected consultant will be expected to gather input from board members, department staff and the public and to fold previous studies, including a recent transportation study, into the county's comprehensive plan. Board members emphasized that local knowledge and input from county officials and constituencies will be important to producing a usable plan; Matt said the consultant will seek interviews and outreach to collect that information.
No firm has yet been selected and no contract awards were made at the meeting.
