At a grand‑opening event, a staff member said the Hilliard Athletic Complex is now open to the public and includes two full‑size turf fields with lights, about 20 irrigated grass fields of varying sizes, a restroom pavilion and ample parking.
The facility — described by the presenter as “three years in the making” — will be used primarily for soccer, with lacrosse and field‑hockey layouts available and tick marks in place to lay out rugby, the staff member said. “It’s awesome,” the staff member said, adding that the park will provide space for families and practices in the evenings.
Organized recreational sports providers will receive first priority for field reservations, the presenter said. The staff member advised residents seeking more information or wanting to reserve fields to visit the complex’s website.
The presenter emphasized that the site is a public facility and noted its two lit full‑size turf fields and the roughly 20 irrigated grass fields, which include drainage systems. Other on‑site amenities cited were a restroom pavilion and parking sufficient for events and routine use.
The grand‑opening remarks closed with an invitation for the public to use and enjoy the new park: “Make sure you come out and join us and enjoy your new park, the Hilliard Athletic Complex,” the staff member said.
