A Hialeah resident raised a problem during public comment about the city’s online registration system for RVs and trailers and said he had not received notifications he expected.
Juan Santana identified a property at 4282 West Seventh Lane and said an RV registered to a relative was cited when the online registration apparently did not work for that address. "I waited basically, like, three weeks, come to find out they actually opened up the registration to start registering your RVs and your trailers, and I was never notified," Santana said. He told the council he attempted to enter the address online and the site would not accept it. Santana said code-compliance staff Yadi and Alexi had been "very professional" and he brought printed paperwork to the meeting to give to the mayor.
Santana asked the council to place his materials on the record and to have staff follow up so the property owner can become compliant. The public-comment exchange was recorded during the Council's comments and questions portion; no formal council action was taken at the time.
