The board also approved a memorandum agreement with AFSCME/Assign Group Local Union 2166 (MOA attached in the packet) to adjust an employee’s step placement. The administrator described a case where an employee hired at step 1 in January required an upward step adjustment to reflect experience and responsibilities; the board approved moving that employee to step 3 effective January 2 (as presented in the MOA) by voice vote.
The board accepted donations to Extension’s Farm Safety Day (packet lists donors) and approved the payments list presented in the meeting packet; both motions passed by voice vote. The board previously voted to go into a closed session under Minnesota statute 13D.05, subdivision 1 (attorney-client privilege) to meet with County Attorney Susan Hansen regarding a pending appointment claim, then later voted to come out of closed session; the administrator reported the closed-session meeting had occurred and described it as related to "ongoing negotiation" but gave no further public detail.
