At the meeting’s operational updates, the support services presenter told the board that student ID laptop labels were delivered and were being distributed to schools, that the district’s code of conduct is posted for public input on the district eBoard site, and that Apalachee High School’s recovery coordinator, Kelsey Zimmer, has recorded an introductory video posted on the district website.
Support services said the laptop labeling process should be completed by the end of the week. Staff explained that the eBoard posting includes the policy, regulations and the code of conduct and that a comments box at the bottom of the page allows anyone to submit feedback with or without a name and email; staff offered that commenters may also call or email support services directly. The presenter asked board members to review the code‑of‑conduct materials and encouraged community feedback.
The presenter also reviewed the recovery coordinator role at Apalachee High School and invited the board and public to view the introductory video to better understand the coordinator’s mission in supporting healing and moving forward after the Sept. 4 incident.
