Lucas County commissioners approve engineering agreements, contracts and program actions; roll calls unanimous

The Lucas County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a slate of engineering agreements, contracts and administrative items during a regular meeting.
Key approvals included three local public agency project agreements with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 2026 and 2027 projects (Monclova Road roundabouts at Angola and Waterville Monclova, resurfacing of the Wabash Cannonball Trail, and an Angola/Crissy Road project) and acceptance of a property sale for a Providence/Minneapolis/Swanton Road/Archbold/White House Road roundabout project (purchase amount recorded as $8,685). Commissioner Gerken moved the motion; the three commissioners recorded “yes” votes.
The board approved a renewal of a software support contract with ConnectTrex Corporation supporting the adult probation case-management system. Amanda Wilson, presenting for the probation department, said the annual cost is $123,009.56 to be paid from the general fund probation account. Commissioner Lopez moved the renewal; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
Other contract and administrative approvals included: - Release of a Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) mortgage for Kyla Canelas at 9817 Oak Place Court (item presented by Matthew Heierman); motion passed unanimously. - Creation of a super blanket purchase order under Ohio Revised Code section 5705.41(D)(3) for recurring expenses at the Glass City Center and the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio; motion passed unanimously. - Award of an annual life-safety inspection and testing contract (sprinklers, alarms, risers) to the lowest responsive bidder, SA Communal Company, at $83,040; motion passed unanimously. - Multiple sanitary-engineer and Water Resource Recovery Facility items (acceptance of a sanitary sewer easement on West Central Avenue; requests for simple interest loans for properties on Angola Road; professional services agreements with Feinfelter for western Lucas County infrastructure expansion; an environmental services agreement with the Air National Guard to connect four properties to public water; a 2025 air-quality services agreement with Fischbeck; and authorization to advertise for West influent screen and grit-chamber improvements at WERF, estimated at about $3,600,000). Nate Incrotte presented these items; motions passed unanimously. - Permission to enter a master service agreement with 4Runner Technologies for Mitel phone-system hardware support; motion passed unanimously.
Each motion referenced above was moved and approved by roll call; recorded votes in the transcript list Commissioner Cabecki, Commissioner Gerken and Commissioner Lopez voting “yes” on the matters listed. The board also voted to enter an executive session to discuss collective bargaining, discipline of a public employee and compensation; that motion was approved by roll call. The meeting adjourned with the next meeting scheduled for March 25th at 11:00 a.m., per the commissioners’ announcement.
