Fiscal Committee approves drone‑detection system for special events

The Fiscal Committee approved the Department of Safety’s request to acquire a drone‑detection system intended to locate small unmanned aircraft and their operators at special events and critical infrastructure sites. Committee members pressed presenters on privacy, mitigation capability and federal role; the measure passed by voice vote.
