Committee corrects statutory reference in language for Idaho Commission for Libraries

The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee accepted corrected language for the Idaho Commission for Libraries to address a drafting omission that dropped a reference to subparagraph (b). Brooke Dupree, budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, told the committee the correction restores the intended citation to the Children’s School and Library Protection Act.
After an initial unanimous-consent request drew an objection from Senator Wintrow, a formal motion was made and the committee recorded a roll-call vote. The motion carried with a combined committee total of 18 ayes and 2 nays and will carry a due-pass recommendation.
Brooke Dupree said the change was a drafting correction: "in our drafting process, the letter b was dropped and so this is just ensuring that it's pointing to the correct section of code as intended, the children's school and library protection act." No additional funding was attached to the language; the item was limited to the statutory citation correction.
