Staff said the nutrition center and road department cameras currently use a different vendor and would be migrated later so all cameras operate on the same system.
Judge Mitchell and staff said the upgrade would reduce the number of cameras in some locations while improving image quality and coverage. Staff recommended proceeding with the purchase and installation and told commissioners the work should meet needs for roughly 10 years before new technology would require further upgrades.
Staff emphasized the cameras are installed in public areas and not inside private offices. The recommendation included that the county work with the vendor to identify uncovered areas and to ensure central control can access the system.
