Waynesville R‑VI rolls out electronic transcripts via Parchment

At the March meeting of the Waynesville R‑VI Board of Education, district staff introduced an electronic transcript service using Parchment that will allow former and current students to order, track and verify official transcripts online.

"We have went digital. We now have Parchment," said Dr. Washington, describing the district's new system for processing transcripts and education verifications. Dr. Washington said students can create accounts, request a free copy of their transcript, designate recipients and track delivery and receipt electronically.

Dr. Washington told the board the system joins roughly 2,000 colleges and universities that accept Parchment and that the district has added a direct link to the student records/transcript page on the Waynesville website. He said the process requires a student's name, date of birth and year of graduation and that student services receives requests immediately for same‑day processing.

A board member commented that their son recently used the system and found it efficient. The district emphasized that Parchment also supports authentication for employers and institutions and can deliver transcripts digitally even to institutions that have not formally partnered with Parchment.

Administration framed the rollout as a step to streamline communication and record verification; no board vote was required for the informational presentation. Staff said they will post user instructions on the district website and make the link available on the student records page.
