Commissioner Purvis was singled out for leadership on the communications tower project, which county staff said will improve radio interoperability for emergency management across neighboring areas including parts of Tyler and Angelina counties; staff also noted the county’s system connects into regional mutual aid channels.
Patricia Snook, a member of the Soil and Water Stewardship Committee, accepted the proclamation and described upcoming local events including an April FFA/4‑H forestry contest, scholarships provided by Waltz Timber, and outreach to students and landowners. The items were ceremonial and received without formal vote.
