Audit services engagement The board approved a one-year engagement for annual audit services with Johnson & Black. County staff said Johnson & Black has served as the county’s auditor for several years and that the contract reflected no substantive changes from prior years. The motion to approve the engagement was made by Supervisor Cooley and seconded by Supervisor Williamson and passed on a voice vote.
Laundry contract for Pine Valley After extended discussion of prior contract practices, cost escalation and the potential to bring laundry services in-house, the board approved a one-year laundry contract with Vestis (identified in the meeting as the operator that has taken over service previously supplied under the Aramark name). The county presented three quotes: roughly $152,000, roughly $97,000 for an in‑house estimate, and an approximately $80,000 quote from Vestis. The motion to approve Vestis for a one-year contract was moved by Supervisor Cooley and seconded by Supervisor Mark Gill; the motion passed on a voice vote.
Votes and next steps None of the three approved items included a roll-call vote in the public record; all passed on voice votes with no recorded oppositions. Staff said they will provide updated schedules and documents as needed (for example, a civil-contractor schedule on the radio project and documentation for ARPA accounting).
