The Seymour City Council on March 20 selected GrantWorks to provide application preparation and grant-administration services and Jacob Martin to serve as engineering/architectural/surveying provider for a Texas Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) downtown revitalization Main Street program application and potential project.
Staff recommended GrantWorks because of its recent work with the city and familiarity with CDBG administration. The council adopted a resolution in support of contracting GrantWorks for administrative services (resolution record in packet, referenced as 15 85 in the packet), then adopted a separate resolution to select Jacob Martin for engineering and surveying services (referenced as resolution 15 86 in the packet). Both motions carried on unanimous votes (4-0).
Council members said the selections will let the city proceed with completing an application and, if funded, move into project implementation with known administrative and engineering partners. Representatives from GrantWorks were present at the meeting to answer questions. Staff will forward the required documentation to the Texas Department of Agriculture as part of the CDBG application process.
