Extension educator files annual report; requests office binding machine purchase

Nicole Stoner, Gage County extension educator, presented the University of Nebraska Extension annual report and impact summary at the Feb. 19 meeting. The board voted to place the annual report on file.

Stoner described program highlights including 4-H youth-development activities, Master Gardener outreach and collaborations with regional educators. She distributed a summary packet and a separate 4-H report that included enrollment, volunteer numbers and fair premium payouts. Stoner noted the county’s Master Gardener program was the subject of the featured impact story in the report.

Stoner also asked the board to approve purchasing a replacement binding machine for the extension office. She said a model listed through the county procurement source (EECS) was priced at $18.79 and that the cost would come from the office-supplies line in the extension budget. “I just wanted to double check that that was okay before I do it,” she told supervisors.

The board moved to place the annual report on file. The motion was moved by Lytle and seconded by Claybaugh; the clerk recorded the vote as 6 in favor and the motion carried. The purchase request was acknowledged during the discussion; staff indicated the item would be processed within the office supply budget if approved administratively.
