County schedules spring solid-waste cleanup for mid-April

Staff said the cleanup will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and recommended using Newton's again because it offered cost savings compared with the previous vendor. A motion to schedule the cleanup for the seventeenth and eighteenth of April was made, seconded and carried.
Solid-waste staff also reported ongoing property-cleanup follow-ups: several property owners contacted after code letters have begun cleanup work and the department will allow additional time for compliance in some cases.
Commissioners approved the cleanup dates and asked staff to proceed with vendor arrangements and public notice.
