Commissioner Dave Scannone announced March 10 that he will step down from the Lake Oswego City Planning Commission because he and his spouse are moving outside the city. Scannone said the family’s planned house expansion resulted in a move to West Linn and that this meeting would be his last.
“It's been a total ball of fun to come in and learn so much from everybody,” Scannone said. “You guys have all been great.”
Planning staff told commissioners the city appointed two alternates during last year’s recruitment process and that the mayor and council would move forward with an appointment. Staff member Eric said the city hoped to present a resolution to council and appoint a replacement at the March 18 council meeting so the new commissioner could be ready for the March 24 planning commission meeting, subject to orientation and scheduling.
Commissioners and staff thanked Scannone for his service and said the group would meet informally after the meeting for a brief departure celebration.
No formal action was taken on the vacancy at the March 10 meeting; staff will notify commissioners once the council acts on an appointment.
