Fremont County commissioners voted Wednesday to approve a certificate of substantial completion for a countywide chip‑seal paving project and to accept a final reconciliation change order that slightly reduced the contractor's price.
County staff reported a walk‑through had identified only minor outstanding items and that the project covered roads including Valley/Paradise Valley, Riverview Cutoff and Country Acres. "We did all of Valley, Paradise Valley, to create your entry acres, and road view cut off in this project," the staff presenter told the commission.
Staff said final quantity reconciliation showed an almost even offset between an overshot on one road and an underrun on another, leaving the contractor's final price lower than the original contract by about $453. The board moved and seconded a resolution to accept the certificate of substantial completion and then approved change order number 1; minutes reflect the contract price incorporating the change order at approximately $1,059,472.22.
Commissioners praised the work and said the resurfacing should extend the life of the county roads. The board then recessed for lunch.
