Clark County planning staff recommended denial of a waiver of development standards and design review for a vehicle-sales facility that staff said has operated without a valid use permit since 1997.
Hunter White, principal planner, summarized the item as a reestablishment of a previously approved early-1990s use that lacked the required follow-up review. “They've been operating without a valid use permit since 1997,” White said during the briefing. Sunrise Town Board recommended denial, and staff also recommended denial. White reported one card in support and one card in protest for the item.
The briefing presented the history and staff recommendation but did not include a formal commission vote. The item will proceed through the county’s standard permitting and review process where county staff and the commission will consider whether conditions or corrective actions can address code compliance.
