The Regional Water Quality Committee voted Sept. 3 to approve a resolution recognizing John McClellan as a non‑voting member of the committee representing three special‑purpose districts outside King County that receive sewage-treatment services from the county.
Jenny Giambattista, council staff, said packet materials include the text of the relevant county rule and a letter dated Aug. 4 from the general managers of Olympic View Water and Sewer District, Cross Valley Water District and Alderwood Water and Wastewater District designating McClellan. The packet states the designation is authorized by county code (the staff memo cited the code provision on packet page 9).
The resolution was moved and the committee voted in favor; no nays were recorded on the floor. Chair Claudia Balducci noted the adoption does not go to the full King County Council and is effective under the committee’s authority.
The resolution states Mr. McClellan will serve as the non‑voting member until the three districts replace him or he is no longer general manager of Alderwood Water and Wastewater District, the staff report said. Committee members welcomed McClellan and expressed appreciation for his willingness to participate.
