Planning commissioners approve Mead Valley logistics project despite air-quality concerns

The Riverside County Planning Commission voted 3-2 on Oct. 12, 2025, to approve a proposed warehouse and logistics development in the Mead Valley area following a public hearing that drew both support and objections from nearby residents.
The project drew sustained questions over applicability of recent state law and the environmental review. County staff said the project application was submitted in December 2022 and therefore is not subject to the provisions of Assembly Bill 98 adopted in 2024. County staff added that the applicant nevertheless provided a checklist showing many voluntary AB 98 practices.
