The Lake County Board approved a joint resolution accepting a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act formula grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for program year 2025 and authorized an emergency appropriation of $8,516,791 for Lake County Workforce Development. Vice Chair Altenberg read the item Aug. 12; the motion was seconded by Member Frank and passed on a roll-call vote. The resolution authorizes county staff to accept program year 2025 WIOA funding and appropriate the grant amount to the workforce-development budget. No detailed program allocations were read into the record during the board action. The item passed on the consent calendar after committee review.
