Parks director hires temporary instructor for boot-camp program, reports repairs and ongoing projects

Claiborne County’s Parks & Recreation director told the board Aug. 18 that she would hire a temporary instructor for a beginner boot camp and reported completed fence repairs at Hermanville Park. The board approved hiring Trofia Robinson as a temporary employee under the county personnel policy for a boot-camp program, to be paid a flat fee of $3,600 for up to six weeks. The board recorded the motion as carried after Supervisor Odom moved and Supervisor Hudson seconded. Nut graf: The parks director said repairs to fencing were completed and that she was working with contractors to get estimates for pavilion repairs and tree removal; she also asked the county administrator to follow up on line-dance instructor scheduling. Project updates and next steps Director Burrell said the Hermanville Park fencing repairs were completed over the prior weekend. She said she was working with a contractor to prepare cost estimates for pavilion work and tree removal and would present numbers at the next meeting if available. The board asked staff to bring estimates to the next meeting.
