CJCC backs multiple grant renewals and applications; staff to attach action to letters

CJCC members approved a motion on Aug. 21 to document council support in the minutes for multiple grant applications and renewals, staff said. Sarah Benedick reviewed several requests: renewal of the 2026 TAD grant supporting pretrial services and the Treatment Opportunity Diversion (with a required 25% county match), a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) supporting law-enforcement deflection personnel that is increasing to $160,000, the RSAT grant that supports the jail Therapeutic Community, a federal victims-of-crime (VOCA) application that suffered a technical withdrawal and for which a waiver is pending, and the NNAI MAT grant that recently expanded to cover alcohol use disorder and shows an increase of nearly $20,000.
