Library commission approves two-year work-plan priorities

The Pleasanton Library Commission voted unanimously Aug. 7 to recommend its proposed work-plan priorities for fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27 and to forward them to City Council for inclusion in the citywide commission priorities. Commissioners emphasized that priorities are recommendations and may be adjusted if circumstances change. Leah described the two-year template used across city commissions and said the work plan aligns with the library's strategic goals (quality, relevance, equity, accessibility and community engagement). Commissioners reviewed the list and raised no substantive additions at the meeting; the commission approved the recommendation by roll-call vote. Commissioners noted that if budget or operational conditions change, the commission could request a mid-cycle review of priorities and return a revised list to council.
