He said requests must be submitted to the local NRCS or state office within 60 days of the disaster or 60 days from when site access becomes available. NRCS conducts damage surveys and may undertake work including debris removal from streams and channels, reshaping and protecting eroded stream banks, preparing drainage facilities and repairing levees associated with structures.
Slater listed sponsor responsibilities: obtaining land rights, securing permits, providing local cost‑share (a 75/25 cost‑share was mentioned), performing installation where required, and conducting operation and maintenance for completed work. He provided a time‑frame slide and told commissioners his office would follow up to provide detailed materials to each commissioner via email.
