The full story
A staff member told the meeting that two accounting journal entries — one from 2022 and one from 2023 — remain unexplained and are being adjusted in the office'records. "So there was 1 from 2022 and 1 from 2023, and they were pretty big entries, about 60,000 for 1," the staff member said. The staff member later told the meeting: "Audit doesn't believe they were, but they didn't catch up the year that they were made." The staff member said some entries "either didn't get sent to him, got sent to him too many times, and they're adjusting it back out," and that there are "some journal entries that I'm not sure where they come from. I can't explain them." The remarks described discussion of adjustments and journal entries; the record shows no formal motion, vote or directive about the entries during the portion of the meeting captured in the transcript. The staff member's comments indicate the office is making adjusting entries but did not provide a full explanation of the origin of the two entries or whether further review or external reporting will occur. No deadlines, follow-up assignments or policy changes were recorded in the transcript excerpts.
