The Wright County Board on Tuesday accepted donations from local businesses to support the Parks & Recreation Department’s “Challenge Right” summer program, which encouraged participants to hike seven county parks between June 21 and Aug. 2. Parks staff Carson and Delia described the program: medallions placed at midway points on the seven hikes served as proof-of-completion; participants sent photos of medallions to county staff to track progress. The program drew 24 families and 12 individuals—about 100 participants total—who will be eligible for donated prizes at an Aug. 9 ceremony at Robert Nye Nature Center. Donors listed in the resolution include Centra Soda, Imagine Theaters, Fleet Farm, Runnings, Buffalo Pizza (which donated pizza for the prize ceremony), Buffalo Comm/Companion Animal Shelter, Arby’s and Dairy Queen. Commissioner Dietrich moved to accept the donations; the motion passed unanimously.
