Commissioners accept donated 1985 Ford F-800 fire truck and authorize insurance coverage

Meriwether County commissioners accepted a donation July 22 of a 1985 Ford F-800 fire truck from Firefox EVS LLC and authorized the county clerk to add the vehicle to the county’s insurance coverage once the title is received. Staff said Chief Stevens (fire chief) supports accepting the truck as a backup unit. Commissioners asked whether full coverage or liability-only insurance would apply; staff said full coverage would be added. The board approved acceptance and directed the clerk to add the vehicle to the insurance roster after title transfer.
