The full story

County highway staff reported a change order related to a federal-aid sign project in Western Port townships and requested board approval of change order No. 2 for $9,367.63. "This particular change order, is for $9,367.63," the highway presenter said. Staff described the line items: additional signposts, removal credits, relocated sign sheets (72 relocated signs totaling $8,712) and a small quantity of thicker sign material for a specific sign. The presenter said some relocated signs now make certain turns for large vehicles (semi-trucks) difficult and that the department will review and move signs later if necessary. Commissioners approved the change order after a motion and second. The motion carried by voice vote. Staff noted they will follow up with the area engineer about some relocation questions and will relocate county signs if necessary to avoid traffic impacts.
