Board approves online‑day plan; district will not send K‑5 computers home

The Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education approved the district’s online‑day plan, a contingency for days when in‑person instruction is interrupted. The plan was added to the agenda to meet a state deadline and was approved on a motion by Miss Regolodai and a second from Mister Workman. District staff said the plan follows the state’s criteria and that the teachers’ contract already contains provisions for days six, seven and eight of remote instruction. Administrators clarified the district will keep the plan on file rather than routinely submitting it to the state; the state may request it for audit purposes. Board members also noted the district will not send K–5 students’ district laptops home for those days. The motion carried on a roll call with recorded yes votes from Mister Rolodine, Mister Workman, Mister Ward and Cathy Mannings.
