Santa Cruz County Health Department to begin issuing birth certificates July 1
Deputy Director Jose Arriola said Santa Cruz County Health and Human Services will begin providing birth certificate copies locally on July 1; until now residents obtained birth records from Pima County. The office already registers deaths and handles other vital records.

Jose Arriola, deputy director of Santa Cruz County Health and Human Services, said the county will start providing copies of birth certificates locally on July 1. The change means residents who were born in Santa Cruz County will no longer need to travel to Pima County to request a copy, Arriola said.
