Local business seeks help from commission after rezoning application delay on Mud Creek property

A business representative asked commissioners to help advance a rezoning application for property near Mud Creek after he said county processes had stalled his client’s effort for roughly a year.

Jamie Parks, representing the Roger Bud Company, said he and his client have sought rezoning to construct a building but were blocked from applying. Parks told commissioners the site is near Madison Highway, on Horace Drive, and that the Army Corps of Engineers has not finalized floodplain lines because the rezoning has not proceeded. He asked the commission to intervene so the application can move forward.
