Committee finalizes sponsor plaque designs and corrects spellings

The Centennial Events Committee reviewed and approved final mockups for sponsor plaques and agreed by consensus to proceed with production after minor edits, including spelling corrections and title formatting. Committee members walked through etched-glass mockups that vary by sponsor level and size; they discussed including the centennial logo rather than the city seal and whether to list council titles or simply "council member." Members asked the designer to correct Debbie Robinson’s spelling and to standardize how council members’ titles appear. The plaque maker will finalize three sizes and confirm whether plaques include a wood or illuminated base. Committee members discussed how to handle a sponsor listing for a car dealership that has changed ownership. The committee agreed to contact the dealership’s general manager to confirm how the sponsor wishes to be identified and said the city can mail a plaque to the past GM if that is appropriate. The committee confirmed the plaques are expected to cost about $4.26 per unit for production of the sample run and that sponsor plaques and one cabinet display plaque will be produced.
