Bee County commissioners on July 14 tabled a sheriff’s office request for an emergency budget amendment to cover generator expenses at the Bee County Law Enforcement Center after staff said a final repair cost was not yet available.
During the discussion the court heard that the sheriff’s office and its repair vendor were still finalizing repair figures and that staff did not have a precise dollar amount to present. One commissioner said the item felt “a little preliminary” and moved to take the amendment up at the next court date. The motion to table the amendment until the next meeting passed by voice vote.
Staff and the sheriff’s office were asked to return with a specific cost estimate and supporting vendor documentation so the court can consider a budget amendment or other funding action. No vote on an amount was taken at the July 14 meeting.
