Legislative Management approved two industry appointments to the Advanced Nuclear Energy Study established in House Bill 1020. The committee approved Pam Gorman Prochaska, recommended by Xcel Energy, and Gavin McCollum, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Basin Electric, as non‑legislator members of the interim study committee.
Mr. Bjornsson explained that House Bill 1020 created the interim study for advanced nuclear energy and authorized appointment of energy sector representatives to sit with legislators on the committee. The committee moved to appoint the two nominees; a member seconded the motion and the roll call vote was recorded with the chair announcing the motion carried.
The new appointees will participate in the interim committee’s work on advanced nuclear energy options and report as required under the statute establishing the study.
