Commission approves three settlement payments after executive session

The commission voted to pay $13,371.47 related to the estate of Gregory Emerick Sr.; to accept a settlement in the amount of $46,330.42 in a matter identified as Stanley & Martin; and to enter a settlement for $121,720.22 (and 76¢) in the matter of Brian Astero. Motions to approve the settlement agreements were moved and seconded from the board; each motion passed by voice vote.
County counsel presented the settlement amounts in open session after the executive session; the commission did not disclose further details about the underlying claims during the public meeting record beyond the settlement amounts and that the matters had been discussed in executive session for legal reasons. The commission noted those payments as authorized by vote.
