The Sumner County Commission approved a vendor-run off-duty management platform the sheriff’s office said will coordinate off-duty scheduling, payments and the associated employer protections for deputies working private details.
Sheriff Craddock told the commission the off-duty management company will handle scheduling and payroll for deputies performing off-duty assignments and that "it's not gonna cost the county a dime." He said vendors who hire deputies will pay for the service and that the company includes workers' compensation and liability insurance for off-duty shifts.
