Council member Saka moved to amend the agenda and explained the motion followed advice from central staff and deputy city clerks. Saka said SDOT had recognized a technical glitch in the attachments to the underlying legislation and that the items would be moved to next week so appropriate technical amendments and errata could be finalized.
Council President Sarah Nelson asked whether a vote was required; the clerk indicated the amendment could be adopted if there was no objection. With no objection, the council adopted the amendment and then voted to adopt the agenda as amended. The chair later asked whether items 4 and 5 had been removed; staff confirmed the removal.
Council members said the change was prompted by timing and staff workload considerations and that the council would work with central staff and the president's office to finalize the corrected legislation ahead of next week's meeting.
