Supervisors approve several road names across Graham County

Graham County supervisors approved four separate road-name requests that the planning department had presented during public hearings.

The board approved the following road names: Gray Ghost Lane (applied for by Tom Palmer; a short street serving one or two addresses near the state prison at San Jose), Butterfly Lane (for a five-lot split off Bridal Eden Road, applied for by David and Tammy), Seraphim Way (applied for by Sergei Bonauve to enable building permits on a parcel the board rezoned earlier), and Keelburg Creek Road (applied for by Larry Wilson for a property in the county's southwest corner where an address is required to obtain a building permit). Planning staff said public posting produced no opposition for these requests and planning did not refer two of the items to the planning commission because they were simple addressing matters.

Supervisors discussed access and logistics in a few cases (driveway and 911/GIS coordination were noted for Keelburg Creek Road and other rural roads) and approved each request by motion.

Action and implementation: Each road name was approved to allow issuance of addresses and, as needed, building permits; staff (planning, GIS, and 9-1-1) will finalize addressing records and ensure there are no conflicting or confusing road names. Supervisors emphasized that county staff will coordinate driveway consolidation and 9-1-1/GIS checks to avoid duplicate or similar names.
