Board approves expanded-learning contracts; district to pilot single enrollment system

The Robla School District Board of Trustees approved two expanded-learning contracts and heard a discussion of provider assignments and student capacity for before- and after-school programming.
District staff described awarding contracts to Right at School and EdTech Enrichment LLC, doing business as Stay After School, and said Roberts Family Development Center's contract will be returned in August because the vendor requested restructuring. Staff said the district will pilot a single enrollment system, "We are piloting a program called 6 crickets for enrollment, and it's going okay," to streamline registration for families.
Staff clarified provider capacities after an initial mix-up in the presentation: Right at School will provide programming for 50 students at each of the five elementary sites and an intersession (break) program capacity of 140 students; the other vendor (Stay After School / EdTech Enrichment LLC) will provide 80 students across three sites for after-school and will provide before-school services at all five sites. Staff said they plan targeted marketing in July and will provide an infographic showing which programs will be at which campuses.
Board members and a parent asked how vendors were selected and how registration will work if families want multiple programs; staff said they used rubric scoring, vendor feedback and program specialties and that the district will centralize enrollment through the 6crickets pilot and include enrollment documents there. Staff said contracts were sized to match available spaces and the district will add additional vendors from an approved pool if demand increases.
The board voted unanimously to approve the Right at School and Stay After School contracts; Roberts Family Development Center's contract will be returned in August for further documentation. Trustees requested a public-facing schedule and vendor-specialty descriptions to help families choose programs.
Staff also noted that one approved vendor will provide before-school supervision at all five sites and that expanded learning intersession planning is included in the contracts for spring break and similar periods.
