The La Paz County Board of Supervisors voted June 16 to approve purchase and implementation of the TotalResponse CAD integration platform for the sheriff's office, with an initial setup cost of $62,598 and an annual support and training subscription of $10,825.85.
The sheriff presented the request, saying the platform would move dispatch from paper cue cards to an electronic system and improve emergency dispatch and law enforcement operations. "This would enable us to be able to be electronic, to come into the 21st century and actually do where we need to be," the sheriff said. He told the board the county had pursued grant funding for five years without success and that this product cost about half of an alternative system the department considered.
The sheriff said recurring subscription costs will be paid from the department's annual DPS funding. County staff confirmed the item was budgeted and recommended approval. After a motion and second, the board approved the purchase; no changes to the subscription terms were made at the meeting.
County staff indicated the plan renews automatically each year unless canceled 30 days prior to renewal; the board directed no additional action beyond approving the purchase and contract implementation during the meeting.
