Board shown new strategic-plan dashboard; district posts goals, progress and next steps

Glenview CCSD 34 administrators presented a new strategic-plan dashboard designed to show progress on three district goals—belonging and well-being, creativity and innovation, and collaboration and community—and described highlights from the year and plans for 2025–26.
"The dashboard showcases the status of each of the tactics that we presented at our board meeting in February," Becca, who led the presentation, said. She explained color coding on the dashboard (green = complete, yellow = in progress, blue = ongoing and red = future initiative) and said the dashboard is available on the district website.
Why it matters: The dashboard is intended as an ongoing public tracker for district tactics aligned to the strategic plan. Administrators said it is meant to be dynamic and to help families and the board see progress at a glance.
Selected findings: Becca highlighted a Panorama social-emotional-learning administration that found about 90 percent of grades 3–5 students reported having an adult in school they can count on. She also noted professional learning about Mongolian language fundamentals, completed demographic profiles for staff groups, and that 92 eighth graders earned the district Pathways to Biliteracy recognition this year.
Community events and partnerships: Administrators listed several community events and partnerships from the year, including Title I Literacy and Mathematics Night, GEF-sponsored STEM nights, PTA and BPAC parent workshops and educator-wellness sessions run with the Family Service Center using a Coleman Foundation grant.
Board feedback: Board members praised the dashboard but suggested clearer visual language for the colors and requested more semi-quantitative trend indicators (for example, percent change over time) to show progress. One board member asked whether the milestones roll up into implementation goals; administration said the dashboard tracks tactics each trimester and that ongoing items may stay labeled "ongoing." The district said it had not received wide community feedback yet but will solicit input.
Ending: Administrators said the dashboard will remain a working document, and they will refine presentation and metrics based on board suggestions and community input.
