Board approves 135-unit flexible development at 405 Coronado Drive

The Clearwater Community Development Board on June 17 approved flexible development FLD20525-03006, a proposed mixed-use project at 405 Coronado Drive that includes 135 overnight accommodation units, about 20,000 square feet of retail space, 6,825 square feet of restaurant area and an approximately 160,795-square-foot parking garage.
Kurt Heinrichs moved the approval on the consent agenda, citing the application and the staff report. “I move to approve case number FLD20525-03006 on today’s consent agenda based on the evidence in the record, including the application and the staff report, and hereby adopt the findings of fact and conclusions of law stated in the staff reports with conditions of approval as listed,” Heinrichs said.
A motion to approve was seconded and the board chair called for the vote: “All in favor, say aye.” Aye. “All opposed?” Motion carries.
Separately, the board continued a transfer-of-development-rights item, TDR2025-03001, to the Aug. 19 meeting after staff requested a continuance.
The approval adopts the staff-recommended findings and the listed conditions of approval; the record and staff report were cited as the basis for the board’s action. No additional amendments to the application were recorded in the meeting minutes.
