County staff told commissioners the extension is necessary because the sequence and availability of required courses and certification exams fall outside the current interim term. "It does extend the opportunity for Cara Endicott to act as our acting appraiser or interim appraiser," a staff member from the County Manager’s Office said during the agenda review.
The staff member also said the Board will receive a corrected briefing sheet and resolution next week because the Property Valuation Division prefers the first interim term end June 30, with the new term to start July 1. "In a couple places, you see references to July 24. Those will become July 1," the staff member said.
Commissioners thanked Endicott and the appraiser-to-be, Carolyn Logan, for their service. No formal vote or final action occurred at the agenda review; staff said they will return with a corrected resolution for formal consideration at the Board’s next meeting.
