Local probation officer asks Sullivan County commissioners for District 6 constable nomination
Wesley Whitaker, who said he owns a private probation office in Glenville, told the Sullivan County Commission he has filed required documents with the clerk and asked commissioners to nominate and vote for him as constable for District 6 at the next commission meeting.

Wesley Whitaker addressed the Sullivan County Commission during the public-comment portion on June 12 to request nomination and a vote to serve as constable for District 6. He said he has filed an affidavit and a psychological evaluation with the Sullivan County Clerk’s Office and confirmed with Sullivan County Administrator of Elections Jason Hoover that his private business does not create a conflict of interest with the constable role.
