Elizabeth Capolo of the Sterling Heights Drug Free Coalition told the council the group is partnering with the Sterling Heights Public Library on the Bear Cub Book Club, a monthly program for children ages 8 to 11 designed to pair young readers with high‑school volunteer mentors. The sessions will run in the library’s programming center and aim to build self‑esteem and literacy through guided read‑along activities.
