The facilities department cited Weld County Code section 5-4-80 — exemptions for nonroutine repairs and services authorized by the director of buildings and grounds — to justify a direct procurement.
The county presented the contract amount as $83,145. The board moved to approve the contract; after the aye/nay call the motion passed and the contract was authorized.
Facilities staff said the agreement is intended as a temporary measure until the county hires a replacement technician or awards a bid for maintenance; no further procurement timetable was specified during the meeting.
