District updates board on DESE CSIP implementation review and timeline

District staff updated the board on the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) CSIP implementation review process and the district’s progress toward meeting the review requirements.
The district representative said the review examines five core requirement areas with a total possible score; the five components are continuous school improvement, the CSIP fidelity implementation rubric, priorities for continuous improvement, CSIP implementation responses, and a culture and climate verification report. The district reported it had submitted drafts, received feedback from the regional director on June 9, and that its CSIP implementation responses were confirmed on June 4 as meeting DESE requirements.
"So this is our review as to implementation and update the continuous school improvement plan," the presentation said, explaining the timeline and that DESE will provide another informational meeting on July 1 to address questions as districts begin implementation work.
Staff said: a draft of the district continuous improvement plan was submitted on June 6 and feedback was received June 9; the fidelity rubric initial review is complete and work is ongoing to develop building‑level rubrics; priorities and required documentation have been compiled for DESE consideration; CSIP implementation responses were submitted April 20 and confirmed June 4 as meeting DESE requirements; the culture and climate verification report was submitted January 20 and discussed with cabinet in February. The district told trustees that all required documents for the CSIP implementation review are due to DESE in December 2025.
Administrators said the goal is to finish documentation and monitoring processes that position the district to earn full points and to use that work to guide the 2025–2030 CSIP cycle. The presentation was informational; no board action was requested.
