Elyria committee approves final plat for Ridgewater Subdivision Phase 7

The Elyria City Council Community Development Committee on Monday authorized the final plat for Ridgewater Subdivision Phase 7, clearing the way for the developer to begin selling the remaining lots.

The committee approved legislation implementing the Planning Commission’s sign-off, which the record lists as granted on June 3, 2025, with no conditions. The motion to adopt the ordinance was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.

Bob Yost, who identified himself from 260 South Logan and described the project as "the final and last phase of Ridgewater, consisting of I believe 44 lots that are left," told the committee the streets are paved and that "we're putting electric in and the gas company is going to be in a couple weeks, we should be ready to sell lots, I would think, in 30 days."

Committee members asked whether the new street connects to Bethesda; Yost confirmed it links through to Bethesda and Potomac. Councilmember Mitchell moved the committee report and Councilmember Callahan seconded; the committee voted to carry the motion.

The action before the committee was an ordinance authorizing approval of the final plat. The Planning Commission approval and the committee vote were the formal approvals recorded; the committee did not attach conditions or require additional infrastructure obligations in its report.

The committee record notes that Councilmember Oswald notified the clerk’s office of his absence for this portion of the meeting and that Councilwoman Mitchell conducted the item because of a stated business conflict.
