The Oldsmar City Council on June 2 authorized the city manager to accept and execute a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Management Services under the Florida Local Government Cybersecurity Grant Program.
City Manager Felicia said the program, administered through the Florida Digital Service (a division of the Department of Management Services), provides cybersecurity tools, employee training and system upgrades to strengthen local government cybersecurity resilience. Felicia said any awarded services will be procured and provided through the Department of Management Services and that the grant does not require a local match for the coming year; continued state funding in subsequent years is not guaranteed. Staff recommended approval and the council approved the authorization by motion.
The authorization allows the city to participate in the program and implement awarded services as procured by the state division.
